At Microsoft’s E3 press conference this morning, Project Scorpio, a VR and 4K-ready Xbox, was announced.

“This is the console developers asked us to build,” a developer said in a video featuring Project Scorpio’s architecture and creators. Microsoft announced that all Xbox games and accessories in the future will work on Project Scorpio, Xbox One, and the newly announced Xbox One S.

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said that Project Scorpio will be able to deliver true 4K gaming and “premiere VR experiences without sacrificing performance.”

Powered by 6 teraflops of GPU power, 8-CPU cores and 320 GBs of memory bandwidth, Xbox Scorpio will release late next year.
